Today's look introduces a new, hot, Summer trend, the "cold shoulder". This summer is all about showing off your shoulders. You may be wondering what's the difference between the cold shoulder and the off-the-shoulder trend. Both styles reveal your shoulders and are very on trend for this season, however, there is a difference between the two. The cold shoulder style has a peek a boo cutout, revealing just a portion of your shoulders. This style usually comes with a strap that provides some coverage. Cold shoulder styles are a great option if you want to ease into exposing your shoulders, and are not quite ready to show off too much skin. The off-the-shoulder trend shows off your full neckline with no arm straps, exposing your full shoulder area. Both styles can be found in tops, dresses, rompers and jumpsuits.
I purchased the Cold Shoulder Tux Romper from Five13studio. The romper is by Lavish Alice, one of my favorite UK lines. When you shop remember, with UK sizing, you need to purchase two sizes up. I am a US 4 and I ordered a UK 8 because the line runs true to size. The orange romper features a deep plunge neckline, classic lapels and cold shoulder detailing. The material is lightweight and stretchy, and the romper has invisible zip fastenings to keep the tailored look pulled together. This is a versatile one piece that is perfect for a special evening. It was the perfect outfit option for me to wear this weekend out on the town in Raleigh, NC celebrating my best friends wedding weekend!
I posted this outfit on Snapchat over the weekend and got a ton of inquiries about my romper, which is what inspired this post. Do you follow me on Snapchat? If not, here's my Snapchat info below. Let's snap!
